Orienteering (BOKTrot Mendips ) 1:26:21 [3]

1-3 all good, running cleanly found a rhythm and was coming 3rd and beating Dane
4 after battling through the gorse ran exactly to the right tree didn't see the control and lost 4/5mins relocating and searching only to see it was just round the corner of the tree!
5 no real analysis needed horrible area and I had lost confidence
6 picked up the pace and won the split
7/8 average
9 what should ahve been an insanely easy leg I messed up as I hesitated when searching in a gully
10 good
11 not really paying attention
12 took high route and so lost a bit of time but not too bad
13 fine
14 got confused by tape i the wood, still not sure what is was doing as it made me think I had passed the control
15 good
16 lost time from not pushing and bad map reading down hill
17-18 had 2nd fastest split twice so may show I ahve good stamina as these were both hard uphill legs
19 faffing
20 hesitant
21 won the split
22 should ahve been easy but lost a little time
23-24 Only a couple secs off the pace so good
25-27 ran straight past 25 got 26 then headed to 27 then looked at my map and realised I had missed 25 shouted to Duncan to check (turns out he had missed 25 aswell lol but he kept going!) then 17 didn't realise it was in a cave and so lost some time searching
28-finish standard, lacked motivation but still had 2nd/3rd fastest split before run in :)



First ever black so annoyed that there were a lot of sloppy mistakes but still really pleased and it was a cool little area :)

Fucking horrible, on the way back I thought I would join the road without going through the park as there were still loads of runners finishing, anyway had to cycle up the worst hill ever.....DEAD!

Running race (Ashton Court PArkrun) 17:38 [3] 5.0 km (3:32 / km)

Felt OK in the morning so decided to go without high expectations...
But I SMASHED it, my form is so much better than I thought as this was more like a mini fell run than a parkrun with it all up or down so my time is way better than it sounds. I was 3rd in a strong and large group of runners and was coming second until the turning, basically I beasted the up hill and expected to be passed by everyone going down but found a rhythm and hung on.
Don't think I will show up in the results as no bar code and no one would give me a number but there was a big gap between me and second and a big gap to 4th (possibly third in official results).

9 by 400 metres, so brutal pushed every one of them and was beating the good guys on quite a few. Was worried I would die, especially after Duncan started to push it but managed to hang on to finish the sessions strongly.

10mins 2 small courses to get into the flow
20 mins attackpoint course,really good flow until I misread the map, weird area as when you knew where you were it was really easy but as soon as you go disorientated it all seemed the same.
30 mins pairs map memory with Duncan, he was pushing pretty hard and I struggled to keep up and plan my leg. After control 3 though he was running in shredded shorts :L
Good fun and glad I went but I have so much work now!

Running (Pub Run) 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

Really good run, cool route even if Duncan took us down a couple of dead ends. Best pub so far by miles :) Leg still hurting from yesterday as I got a cramp so bad I couldn't move my leg when I went surfing, also knees feel weak (not good signs probably give intervals a miss tomorrow)
