Warm Up/Down 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Orienteering (Kerno Dunmere) 1:07:55 [3] 10.0 km (6:48 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Distance: 8.1km Height Gain: 275
Overall a descent run, with some bad points.
Started off really hesitant in the first couple of controls.
Then started to get better, and then got to the 5th control, overshot it by miles (just wasn't paying attention to the map) 3-4 min mistake. Grey didn't start long after me so he passed me here.
Hit 6 OK but trying to catch Grey to 7 I took not only the wrong route but went the wrong way +45 sec.
8 and 9 were good just a couple of seconds lost to overshooting 8 by 10 metres and misreading the map a little.
10 I did slow but Grey really messed up so I caught him back up here.
11 lost my gap on Grey as I stopped to check the map as there was an unmapped path and came off the track too soon.
12-14 all fine and got out of sight of Grey again, but up to 15 I must have been looking at the map and so overshot the path and run +150 metres the wrong way.Had to stop and work out what I had done and then found the path. Came out of the track to see Grey had over taken and got the control.
16 good caught him up
17 good over took
18 good got out of sight again
19-finish all fine.

A bit disappointing, as without my mistake to 5 and the scrappy bits I could have run atleast 5-6 minutes faster.
