Warm Up/Down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Orienteering (River Dart Country Park) 1:02:09 [3] 8.5 km (7:19 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Length:6.8km Height:420m
Absolutely awful!

Physically didn't push very hard, mainly because my navigation was so poor today. Just never got my head into what Into as doing until the end. Just really sloppy through out. In a way I am kind of glad though, because I have had a string of consistent results and so hopefully messing up now will save me in the JK.

-no clear plan and could have been a lot faster.
-3 awful, Flurry beat me by 3 minutes! Came off the path, doubted myself and so decided to relocate off the bank, just horrendous.
-4 trying to pick up the pace but barely looked at the map and ran 90 degrees the wrong way and had to relocate.
-5 was a huge leg, which I should have done, quickly as you just had to follow the fences and come down. Never really had a clear plan and ran slowly (demoralised)
-7 I could have done quicker if the map was correct and I was lucky that I saw the control. Also what was worrying was any other day I would have tried to run up the hill but I just carelessly walked up.
-8 ran all the way down the hill to 12 and had to come back up, great!
-9 easily the worst control, running on a bearing fine, came too far left, relocated off the path, didn't go far enough. Relocated off the fence still didnt see it then went off from the path again and there it was, f******* obvious!
-10/11 fine, especially considering a bit of dodgy vegetation mapping.
-12 fine but should have been fast as I had already been there.
-13 was good but I got lucky as I ran half on a bearing and then saw the control.
-14 average took a poor route at the end
-15/16/17/18/19/20 picking up the pace and doing OK, only errors were hesitations etc..
-21 lost probably 20 odd second or more, as I wasn't really paying attention to the map and thought the control should have been sooner.
-22/23/24/finish all good. maybe a bad route to 23 but I was just trying to pick up the speed.

Probably missing today and tomorrow to rest my ankle and then beast it on Suday. Also next week I am going to do really intense training to get me ready for the JK and then I will ease down the Jk week.
