Orienteering race (Mutters Moor Event) 1:11:44 [3] 10.0 km (7:10 / km)
shoes: more miles cheviot

Won the Brown by a fair way which was good considering a few big mistakes.
I lost a lot of time to 3 considering how easy the leg was, abut 30sec-1min.It was on a tree and I ran into a gorse section early, realised my mistake fairly quicklly though.
Then to 4, because its Devon I won the Brown split but I think I would have lost some time, because I back tracked to a path instead of going straight through the trees.
Slightly over shot 5.
6 Was the second biggest mistake, as I followed the main path onto Bulverton Hill and then decided to go over and down instead of following the path around but I doubted myself on which path I was on and played it safe and so came back down to the path. But I got a bit disorientated because tyre tracks from the logging weren't mapped and I ran into the felled area. Realsied after looking at my map and found it OK.
Again because its Devon I won the split but I am not sure what the fastest route to 7 was as I went up and then back down at the path junction to get it.
8/10/11 I shocked myself on as I was running on a bearing through the forest and each time I hit the control really well.
13 should have been way faster but I was doubting myself at the start.
THEN THE HUGE MISTAKE: I RAN FROM 13 ALL THE WAY TO 16 FOR SOME REASON AND THEN HAD TO RUN ALL THE WAY BACK. LOST ABOUT 7 MINUTES WHICH WOULD HAVE MADE MY TIME FAR BETTER BUT OH WELL!
20 just hesitated a lot and ran past the control but quickly realised.
21 Again should have been faster because it was an easy control and I just had to put my head down and follow the paths.
The bets part of the course as the controls were so goo, all the remain controls were fine except 25 as Iran through the fight for some reason.
Overall I ran a good course and Ben planned it really well, so much better than normal Devon events. However, physically I needed the toilet the whole way round which didn't help.
Also the area if I'm honest is fairly easy and it was hard to get lost here as there were loads of easy features to relocate off!

Surfing (Sidmouth Fun) 1:10:00 [3]

Waves were OK, tired as I went straight from the event to surf.
Joss came out aswell, but the wind was pretty strong so it was hard to get a good wave.

Warm Up/Down (finding a toilet) 20:00 [3] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: more miles cheviot

With warming up etc.. and then desperately needing the toilet I had quite a workout.

Running (Long Run with Grey) 1:56:00 [3] 21.0 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: New Balance 110

Really good run, mild conditions so the temperature was good and had a great view of the scenary. Grey found it a bit hard because he hasn't run this distance before really.
Last week when I ran this route near the end I was really stiff and tired but I feel pretty good this time so I think the training may be begginning to impact my strength.
The new shoes were really good, would work well on fast openish terrain and tracks.
disadvantages were not great grip on the descents and because it was quite marshy a lot of icy water got in. Also my left foot was perfect but the right was a bit tight.
I want to try and do some speed work in an urban area to test their speed for sprints.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Been training really hard recently so am going to take a break from running today because my right knee aches from last nigh. I think the long road down hill I took too hard and did my knee.
Also two events on the weekend so need to be in good shape.

Running (Hashing Budleigh) 1:00:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: more miles cheviot

Fun hash, was running well. I seriously need a better head torch so I can lead with more confidence.
Slight pain in my right near at the end.

Warm Up/Down 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)

Short run up the hill

Running (snowy East Hill) 51:06 [3] 9.7 km (5:16 / km)
shoes: more miles cheviot

Really great run up East Hill and around core cospe then back down. Really great speed for the whole run and the snow made it really enjoyable.
Took the climbs and descents really hard and felt good.

Core Workout (Core) 10:00 [3]

I will have to work out a proper scheme

Running (Blizzard Run) 39:30 [3] 8.21 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: more miles cheviot

Bizzarre run, planned a 15km run with a lot of height gain which I could do some time, then decoded to do it today. Got 3km in and realised I shouldn't ahve come out at all, it was a blizzard with flooded roads. Cut it short and still got a good run out of it.
Condisering the conditions I was actually going at a respectable speed and flet good in the home straight a long the river.
