Warm Up/Down (Cannop Ponds) 25:00 [3]

Despite Zak and Joss not seeming to be up for the warm up, I did it and felt reasonably good afterwards

Orienteering (Cannop Ponds Galloppen) 29:09 [3] 4.2 km (6:56 / km) +80m 6:20 / km

Really good course, set out strong and stayed srong except a couple of mistakes at the end saused by rushing.
Good to beat Joss, a shame he mispunched, both for the team and also I couldn't gloat as much as if I had beaten him without that mistake.

Orienteering (Byes Night/Map memory) 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

Ran a map memory course which went well but I knew the area too well so it was more like a run with a head torch.Shadowed Meg who did Ok. The new head torches are really good but the battery is far heavier than I was expecting. The byes session I always think are going to be shit but turn out to be laugh.

Running (Hard run) 1:17:35 [3]

Really hard run all the way up East hill down the other side for a couple of k and then all the way back in the pitch black.

Warm Up/Down (BSOC) 30:00 [3]

On the way down and at the end.
The warm down at the end I didn't want to do because I was so depressed but I did it because I could feel myself seizing up.

Orienteering (BSOC) 56:00 [3] 4.9 km (11:26 / km) +90m 10:28 / km

BLEW THE BEST CHANCE I WILL EVER HAVE AT DOING WELL ON A NATIONAL SCALE!
I haven't seen the splits yet but talking to Joss I beat him on nearly every leg except the shit ones I messed up.
Breakdown:
Off to a good start, found a control and probably gained a lot of time because it was a long path leg. Then two got to the right area and just missed the control and then found it quickly. 3 was where it went wrong, I hit a small path that I though was a different path and ran all the way to the railway for a 6 minute leg. Didn't give up though, I knew i could discount a great result for a good one though. Then hit all the controls to 15 pretty well with relatively clean running. Caught Jamie at 9 but he missed it and I had to send him back so he couldn't follow me, shame.
Then between 14 to 15 I must have run 90 degrees the wrong way and just got more and more lost. I remember running back to 14 and running the wrong way again . I met Jamie who was also lost but I had no choice but to follow to him because I had given up and just had no idea. (had to use a tourist map at one point). Long story short I had a 17 minute leg. Then on the way back in I had no spirit to try but still got the controls at average speed.
Joss will rub this in my face for ages haha. I am almost certain without my two mistakes I could have run

Orienteering (Training Event) 1:00:00 [3]

Not sure what to feel about today, so glad I didn't have to do the Qualification event because I felt so bad after the 5 hour journey. The training was fun and no huge mistakes because of no pressure just sort of tried to look at the terrain. But a couple of times my head just wasn't geared in and I could tell I would have done badly.
Grey got DSQ for missing a control! Even if he had finished he would have only got an average placing anyway, his time looked OK.
After messing up the O maze I went in for the second attempt and got the quickest time of the day, haha the real competition!

Running 1:20:00 [3] 13.0 km (6:09 / km)

Good night run, time is longer than it looks because of the warm up and a few stops, aswell as the caution necessary because of the pitch black running!

Surfing 1:30:00 [3]

Wall after wall of white water made this one of the most depressing surfs I ahve ever done.

Orienteering (Byes Night Relay) 1:37:44 [4] 8.0 mi (12:13 / mi)

Really good session with everyone (large turnout), more working on speed than navigating but good in the dark because a little bit of navigation was needed. Came 3rd in the relay with my partner which was a shame!
NEED TO GET JOSS'S HEAD TORCH.

Orienteering (Woodbury Common) 49:09 [3] 5.0 km (9:50 / km)

Jamie, Joss and me went for a fun course. The map is horribly out of date and hard to read but it was generally a good laugh. It was all about helping Jamie get better and so he found the route and me and Joss shadowed him, apart from a couple of controls he did really well.

Running (Longish Run) 1:23:07 [3] 14.0 km (5:56 / km)

Despite Grey getting us lost it was a really good run. So annoyed we missed the November classic.

Orienteering (Training at Hamptworth) 3:30:00 [4] 15.0 km (14:00 / km)

Time and distant are approximate.
Really good day, as we started with a course to work on long legs. Hit all the controls really well except from 2, basically I thought the section where I should have turned off the path would be too vague so I did a bearing over a hill and went far too right and so ran off the map and so couldn't relocate, then saw Grey and I wasn't too far off which was good.
Then ran a course, focusing on accurate navigation which went well apart from a couple of legs which I thought I was in a different place, messed up Harry Butt's course!
Then did a map memory thing that was good as I got to the control without the map at all.
Then the individual relay I set ff not really trying and struggling to find the first control with the others and then I picked up the pace and beat Harry and we had different routes so I was pretty pleased. Still not sure how I did it because my first leg was so slow.

Running race (3k time trial) 10:07 [5] 3.0 km (3:22 / km)

Tried to push myself but really hard to pace with no one else, so Grey beat me by 5 seconds :(
Also after the two days of hard training I was surprised to get under 10.10, so still pleased with that.
