Running (Warm up/down) 30:00 [1] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 190

Orienteering 33:47 [4] *** 6.18 km (5:28 / km) +180m 4:46 / km
spiked:13/21c shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 190

JK relay, mens trrophy 3rd leg.

Yet again, a poor run. Millar and Barbie had solid runs to put us in a competitive position. Buggered 1 to already be a bit pissed off, then lost time through a couple of the sprint bits. After that I screwed up 8 big time (map didn't seem to fit), allowing Tim to go past, before catching him again through to about 14. Raced a bit with him from there, through to the penultimate, good route choices (normally with me taking the shitter one). Buggered it on 20, tried to take the time out of him going round but it was too long and I was too slow so crawled the rest of the way in to the finish. Lost a lot of time and had a poor run, have just been a miserable git since really, bit sick of all this at the minute.

Jk Long

The biggy. Starting with no one around me made this a pretty lonely run. Began in the frezzing rain driving straight at me up the hill but was safe through the first 5, but lost some time in the circles. Not the best on the longer leg, dropping time more through pace and climbs and perhaps being indecisive on the route. Steady through the next section but began ramping up the pace significantly after my gel post 10. Safe run to this point, never over exerting myself and in hindsight could have pushed harder. Went through my 6/9/12min men on 13 (they were in a pack), and pushed on through to 15. Very stupidly checked my watch at 16 and knew I was on for a good time, so changed what I was doing and began running harder but not navigating. Had I stuck at my pace, I'd have been around 75 but instead I proceeded to drop almost 10 mins by screwing up 19/20/21, meaning my position was seriously hampered. Not much else to say, thoroughly disappointed and kicking myself for my stupidity. Same again, own analysis is more in depth but I don't feel the need to share it here. Stupid mistake cost me heavily.

shoes: VJ Supra V2 (2)

Standard warm up then nearly 5k of warming down/fuming.

JK Middle

Looking forward to this one but basically I tried to run too hard. Physically I was flying but just not in the right direction. A distinct lack of compass led to varying degrees of mistakes on roughly half the controls, dropping a significant amount of time and really. Full analysis on my own but essentially a lack of compass and trying to run too hard ruined it.

Running 55:00 [1] 6.0 km (9:10 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Musha 4

Warming up and down for the sprint.

Orienteering (JK Sprint) 15:54 [5] **** 4.1 km (3:53 / km) +50m 3:39 / km
spiked:20/22c shoes: Mizuno Wave Musha 4

JK Sprint course 1

Prepared well for this one with it being my main aim for selection. Already worked out where 1 was, then began flowing well through. Hesitant on 4 when I wasn't sure it was on top or not, then another slip on 5 stopping a bit short on the drain thing. Only real mistake was not seeing 9 and heading straight to 10, losing about 15 seconds. Clean other than that but struggling to keep the pace up in the last 3rd. 4th 20 so pretty pleased, but could have been better.

Running 34:41 [1] 6.82 km (5:05 / km) +72m 4:50 / km
ahr:150 max:173 shoes: Salomon Sense Link

Very east run from home, just turning the legs over. HR is high but I was having problems with my monitor and got a stitch and chest was tight so lost it for the last couple of k and felt better.
