Marsden Moors Marathon.
Set off with the leaders. Yo-yo'd with a couple of others for first 30 mins then pushed on up a hill. Leading across to M62 footbridge then slowed to eat a little and empty a water flask before the CP. Back in the lead again a mile or so later after the leader made a nav error. He soon caught me back up and flew past on a rocky downhill. Kept him in sight for a while, but I was starting to flag after 25km and then the cramps started. Hamstrings, glutes and hip flexors all threatening for rest of the course. Third place runner catching up as we crossed Wessenden, but he then went off course and ended up DNF. I didn't know this and was looking over my shoulder for last 30 mins expecting him to overtake me any moment.
2 x gels, mars bar, cereal bar, rice bar. 2 x litres water. Shame I forgot the salt tablets!
