Park run mark 2 - again at Coombs - a bit faster than 2 weeks ago - by 29 seconds - cool conditions but no wind - rode there and back which was a test going down hill to the event given the temperature.

Usual Friday coffee ride to the arboretum - peloton of Liz and I this time but joined by 2 other soles to enjoy coffee with. Tracks were drier than I thought would have been the case given recent rain. Zoo pines single tracks real nice and a few deciduous trees with yellow autumn leaves still on in the pines (probably weeds tho). Temperature was brisk when confronted with the southerly wind.

So windy I had to take the Obrea to get home. Peloton of only 2 today - very fast ride into the coffee stop as strong and cold wind from the west. Nice day to try my new winter weight tights - very cosy. Orbea helpful also in getting Peter back as he was able to sit on my wheel into the headwind.

Day 2 of the NSW State League event - Roseberg South map - DNF - spur gully (with limited rock detail mapped I subsequently discovered). Not confident wth the map after the first leg which I did ok but saw a flag on a termite mound and not sure where that was. Absolutely made a great parallel error on the longish leg to 2 - ended up 300 metres from 2 and about 7 contours higher - slope in the same direction and multiple unmapped rocks meant after a frustrating search I trudged back and never really relocated until a few hundred metres from the finish. Only worked out where I was by looking at the master map for control 53 which I found a couple of times while being lost. At least some exercise.
