Day 1 of xmas 5 days at Chevalier college sprint map near Bowral. Very nice and tricky course and a good run bar control 16 to 17 where I dropped 1.30 minute - was sitting pretty for a place in Mens D before that slip up. Somehow managed to find 2 controls before I found mine when I lost contact with the map. Main thing was pleased that the body held up. Actual race distance advertised as 1.9 km.

Run 13:06 [3] 2.53 km (5:11 / km) +28m 4:54 / km

2.7% improvement to last run on the cross country track but there was a qualifier - stopped twice to take photos (and thereby inadvertently lowered heart rate) and twice to actually lower heart rate. Shows what can be done with a non stop run - a target to aim for.

Realised this also raised another possibility of lowering the time - distance is equivalent to 25 X 100 metre sprints - therefore if I could say average 15 seconds a sprint - then recover for the next one - the running time could be lowered to 6 minutes 15 seconds! But if recovery time between each sprint was say 5 minutes the whole exercise could take over two hours.

From RSPCA to arboretum for coffee and back - 4 walkers and a dog plus I carried 10kg with pack and load as training for the overland track. coolish day - wonder what happened at the cricket?

Ride with Liz around 2 basins of LBG, stopped for coffee at Cupping Room (and hot cakes!) then home via a friends at Yarralumla - used MTB while Liz had roadie. Warm headwind on the way home - time and distance an estimate today.

3.349282296 % improvement since last run - went early to beat the heat - roos resting next to the cross country track showing little interest in my efforts. Hopefully this running will help when we do 3 of the xmas 5 day events - plan to do the sprint, long and one middle.

Peloton of 3 plus Rucks the dog. To arboretum for coffee then thru the single tracks near the Zoo. Nice riding weather.

Run 13:56 [3] 2.53 km (5:30 / km) +26m 5:14 / km

2.7% improvement since last run and 11% improvement to the first run on this route around the cross country track at Stromolo - nice cool morning so felt better but still a few short walking bits to erase from my memories.
