O race 41:52 [3] 3.56 km (11:47 / km) +139m 9:51 / km

Back to reality - ACT Middle Distance Champs on Issacs Ridge - first time that both I and Liz have ran on this map - 4th in M65A (9 minutes down on NickD) and about a minute slower than Liz!. Blew 2 minutes on control 2 and another 2 minutes on 9. Both cases losing contact on 200 metre legs and pulling up short (first time) and below the control (second time). Also a bit too hesitant on some legs (e.g. 4 to 5 and 5 to 6 lost 1 minute on each with wide route choices - according to winsplits ) - was able to run longer legs OK tho. Plus fastest split on leg 10 to 11. Nice event - challenging but fair course and more importantly the body held up during both events this weekend.

O race 13:46 [3] 1.8 km (7:39 / km)

ACT Sprint Champs at a new map - Canberra Girls Grammar - 2nd in M65A - but 56 seconds behind Gordon W - estimate I lost 20 seconds on leg 2 to 3 - will check winsplits - route choice was not careful enough and hit an unpassable fence (since it was about a 3 metre drop down) and had to go wider than the other route choice. Some of the small stairs were hard to see going between levels. Cool to drizzly conditions.

MTB 1:04:34 [3] 17.7 km (3:39 / km) +214m 3:26 / km

Ride with Vern to the arboretum for coffee and back - tracks sticky after all the rain we have had over the past few days - settled the dust. Bit of single track fitted in near the zoo.

Usual session and tough enough.

ride with Peter 1:40:44 [3] 40.02 km (2:31 / km) +298m 2:26 / km

Peleton of 2 then 4. Waited for Nick D who got stuck in a Canberra traffic jam getting to our place so we rode separately to 38 - then rode back with the other 2 DRAG members. Nice riding weather and a good chance to catch up on O gossip and life in the fast lane in Terrigal. Plenty of political discussion over coffee.
