Nice training weekend towards SM erikoispitkä. Legs felt a bit heavy already before the start, but was mostly able to keep a good speed. Strange map (control placement?!) at control #9, the other mistakes were definitely caused by missing concentration on my side.

WRE test race Sprint

A really stupid mistake AGAIN. There has been a map change at #11, have been checking the control description there carefully and decided to take the right (faster) route choice to #12. Though, forgot to check the direction once again and made a 90° mistake. It has been a quite stressful day, fully scheduled, probably my concentration didn't had the best day...
Pity, but hey: nice to see that I'd basically be able to run among the best 6-7 CH-runners in Sprint without such a stupid mistake (and having a bit more concentration to #18 and motivaiton up the hill to #19.) 50 seconds faster would have been possible with just the bigger things, therefore looking forward to next season and probably more than one track session once every month?! :)

Close from the best sprint race so far - but only close. Not sure what I've been thinking on the way to #20 (most likely nothing...), losing 40''+ there and another 15'' with taking the wrong route to #22. Well, taking home the good points: leading after control #19 and still just steps behind Olav on the long leg.

SM-viesti, 1. osuus

Hyvää! Minor mistake to #1 but afterwards clean navigation and suddenly leading the big group on legs to 5-6-7. Stepping back a bit and eventually catching Kuuka on the way to #13 who ran away a bit after #9. Had the chance to win the leg, being together with the latter winner on the path towards #15 but took a bit too much risk on the last meters. Should have waited for the finish line, but one is always wiser after the race. Good performance by everyone of the LS-37 team.

Even though I'm not a big fan of long distances, that was a really nice one. Really satisfied with only minor mistakes and a good pace all the way, despite running alone every meter. The runners placed 1, 2, 4 & 6 have been running together for quite a while.

9. TMO

While our athletes did a fantastic job winning the annual competition among the regional squads, at least one of their coaches didn't do that. Had troubles to get into some kind of flow and concentrate enough straight from the beginning. It ended up in a desasterous performance, just wishing for the controls and the finish to come. And they don't come without work, that's what I learned... :) No big deal, though. Probably the least important competitions this year.
