Xray shows a fracture in the right collar bone. Consultation at Ortho Kansas tomorrow. Not a rest day - doctors appt this AM, and Xrays, then back to work. Retrieved X-rays in PM.
The really bad news - I'm 8 pounds heavier these days than when I was marathoning last year.

Still not moving very fast after Sat's bike crash. Used my rolling desk chair as a walker Sat and Sun. Limping around the house without it today. Icing for the 3rd day. Still some swelling in the right hip. Slowly getting better each day, but wonder if I can make it work tomorrow.

Decided to take a longer ride - did the Autour Mont Bleu going out on old K10 first. Got into town and hit a small bump on Indiana near 18th and fell. Only had the left hand on the handlebar. Going slow enough I fell on my right side, bruised the right hip and scraped the right elbow. Shoulder sore. Immediate concern on the fall was being on the edge of cramping up. Two kind residents came to help. Sat for awhile mainly to let the felling of cramping subside. Then the walking around provided I needed to call Dee to get me home. Icing for the rest of the day. Swelling in the hip. Right elbiw should be OK. Not sure if the shoulder is just sore, seems like there's some small cracking sounds when moving it.
It was a nice day to ride - sunny, breeze from the SW and manageable. Goal was to get in the distance and Not push the pace. Succeeded until Indiana Street.
Also, a coincidence - I had a bike wreck at 17th & Indiana in 1971 - was unconscious and ended up at Watkins Memorial - I was planning to go with Ken Mackenzie for a bike ride to Toronto (Canada). I only had $50 in my bank account. A blessing that I didn't go.
Indiana not good to me. Also, needed a tetanus shot when I ran at Yellowwood in the 80s and found a barbed wire fence.

Ulrik's Hill. Met Spike, Ulrik and Matt at the Lied Center. Then down hill to the KU Public Safety building, around to the Fac. Services Rd and uphill to band practice field. 3X, averaged about 5 min each uphill section. Easy jog/walk on downhills. Not supposed to run, but managed to ignore the ache in the groin. Hard breathing from hill workouts - been a long time since I experienced the effort. One more downhill on Crestline and up (walked). Temp: 70F, nice breeze.
Iced 20 min. in the evening.

Farewell to Jenny Bengtsson run at Dad Perry Park (then dinner at El Potro).
Ran Spike's 2K course in 15:30. Ran, did not walk and it felt OK. Then went out again on the old course on the map and did another 1K (about 10 min). Toweled down and changed shirts, then walked to pick up one control. (another 5 min) About 4 K for the evening.
Quite a year for OK, getting two Scandinavians orienteering in Lawrence this year, putting on an A meet. And the whole time I was injured and unable to run. The running was OK and without aches.

Went with Dee to Mothers Day 5K in OP. Dee took 2nd in F60. I Garmined by walking and running and got in 2.65 miles. Walking, stopping, sprinting to the next photo location, repeat.

Rode to Damon's place to see his chickens. Dee was already out there helping him plant his vegetable garden. Since it was a short stretch on gravel decided to ride the mountain bike. Handled it better than I thought - more like doing a light weight workout for the legs all sitting down. Want to increase training on the bike to be fit to ride some organized rides this summer. Put the Garmin Edge in my back pocket, so no rpm info.

Warmer weather so decided to to ride my bike at 5:30 am. Streets are great with no traffic and an LED bike light was good enough to see any cracks in the road. Sunlight at the turnaround at Clinton Parkway T.
