AM - Clinton SP trails from Corps Office - hi trails out, lower set back. Enough mapreading to call it O' training. Heel not extremely sore afterwards. Ran in Salomons rather than O' shoes.

AM - 21 degrees, sunny & windy from S. Out to Free Stee HS & new development (Eisenhower Rd). Meandered back to get 45 min. Hands got cold (old, old XC ski gloves).

Out Farmers Turnpike, S Trafficway bike path to Clinton overlook, back via bike path to SW Jr Hi, then 23rd to Iowa . Up W campus then went over Iowa to avoid last hill (avoid? Spike is look for hills and I'm avoiding them? Tsk, tsk). About 45, got very windy (from NW).
Riding an exercise bike does not keep in shape for the roads. Would have preferred to do the corridor O' exercise at Kill Creek. . .

Ks Champs - big boom day - but then I knew I wasn't going to be sharp today not having orienteered this fall. Completely lose sense of what to do. Was racing people the first 8 controls and mapreading skills at race pace was rusty. Ran by #9 (the form-line knoll by the stream), didn't see marker and ran up the hillside, way south, way north. No excuse for running up 3-4 contours! 15:58 on this 400m leg. Thought about quitting, but needed the workout.
Weather was nice - ran in short sleeve.
