Marshfield, Vermont - US Relay Champs. Much better run - started seconds ahead of mass wave of 4th leg. Dick & Nancy Neuburger and Mary Jones all did very well. We were 22nd team of the 8 pt teams.

Beaver Brook Farm (A meet) Marshfiled, VT Green Y course. OK be careful - OK to 1, then big boom to #2 (22 min!), decided then this would be a training day. Still struggle with 1:10000. though I like mucn better the larger sacle for reading purposes. Nonetheless, it was great to be back in New England.

PM - road bike had some missing trad on the back tire - so took mtn bike to Lakeview. Certainly more effort to spin.

AM - run to Fall Creek (misting - rain last night - hoorah!) w/ Boojum Rock map (3.4k course from 79). Tried to visualize routes on map - hard work to concentrate the entire time pretending that the next house is the boulder or knoll you should go around on the map. Uphill on the map meant speeding up to get same heart rate speed. Clicking my heels 3 times didn't get me to New England.

PM- Bonner Park O. Spike setup an 8 pt course = start to control & back x 8. Tried to beat 35 min. Felt some speed in legs. OK reading map (simple terrain, but can work at looking for any map features - any reentrant nearby, direction of treelines, etc) first half of run. Got lazy at end - can not do that in New England. Nice weather; nice park ranger to unlock gate to parking lot at Shelter F.

AM - Lone Star Lake - met bike group coming down LS dam as I was going up; was an easy ride until I decided to chance down the group - thought it was the LBC Muffin Ride. Did catch them by Wakarusa School as a women cyclist stopped to strip down to her jogbra, all but 3 of the pack kept going.
Overall a 3 effort, though the chase was 4-5.
