running/walking 2:27:50 [3] 15.5 mi (9:32 / mi)
ahr:62 max:160 shoes: New Balance 767

AM - group of 5 (Dee, Becky, Peter, Bruce & I), out first to Grand Vista, then up to Monterey & Peterson, Becy went back, then we took Martin Park Rd to Queens. Up Queens Rd Hill, Wakarusa to Overland. Others went back, I wanted to do 15, so west on Overland to Queens, crossed 6th to Stone Creek(?) and got to Geo Wms Way.
Left lens from glasses popped out by Bishop Seabury on Clinton Parkway. Spent about 10 min looking, including getting a police officer to stop to check to see if was hurt (I had by black hood over my left eye so I could try to focus better). Gave up looking and ran home - squinting some times, looking over the glasses other times. The stop was good getting a rest.
Finished tired, but not wasted. This steady diet of training with long runes once a week is slowly paying off. Need rest day tomorrow to heal up and get over aches.

Dee & went out later and found the lens, just about where I thought it should have been, but we covered about 150m distance looking. The snow cover on the bike path had melted and helped.

Saturday Feb 23, 2008 #

running/walking 1:25:00 [3] 8.7 mi (9:46 / mi)
ahr:73 max:148 slept:8.0 shoes: Vasque Blur

AM - plan was to do 7 mi, but miscalculated the distance from home to HyVee on 23rd. Met Dog Days running group; they were to head west on Clinton Parkway and turn at Inverness or any other point further out. I took Crossgate and ran home figuring I'd get 7.5 mi, but close to 9 mi. I didn't expect. Concern about microscopic tears in calves and ankles, aches. Rest, yes. But how much?

Sunday Feb 17, 2008 #

running/walking 50:37 [2] 4.6 mi (11:00 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Integrator

AM - Kaw River bike trails (to big log and back). Really sloppy snowy slush with most of the trail covered with water puddles or slush or snow. Really tested the neoprene socks - actually wanting to splash right in the puddles. Then just before halfway point wondered if the neoprene socks didn't work - am I in trouble?
Really tired from long run yesterday; should have done 7 mi, eneded up doing only 4.6.
Next week should try going 7 mi on Sat, then the 15 on Sun.

PT stretches for shoulder in the evening.

Saturday Feb 16, 2008 #

running/walking race (trail race) 1:49:10 [5] 9.8 mi (11:08 / mi) +983m 8:30 / mi
slept:6.0 shoes: Integrator

Psycho Wyco 10 Mile - 3rd M50-59. Not in best shape to race today - didn't peak for event. About 30F, sunny, snow on ground, but warm enough for muddy spots and making ground soft and mushy.
MotionBase map. 3225 ft of climb according to the GPS. It is brutally hilly. . .
