Out along Cockmylane and up Allemuir, enjoying the sunshine and relative pain-free groin. Started to get sore again towards the end. Feet and lower leg muscles a bit sore from all that pavement pounding: to be expected. Didn't quite come back the way I had planned: need to go further left and round the other side of green craig. Loving the easy access to the Pentlands!

Well that was a bit of a disaster. I had expected something to go wrong given the past 5 weeks, but surprisingly wasn't my knee, or general bonking towards the end. Long story short, I had a pain in my left groin and hip more or less from the start (in fact, my hip flexors were cramping up when I tried to put on my shoes in the morning). Got unbearable around mile 8 and I slowed down a bit. Seized up just before mile 14, so I pulled out (first ever DNF). Thankfully I got out of my foul mood after 10 minutes stretching it out and the long walk back to the finish in the sunshine. Don't understand it at all. Will see Guy on Thursday anyway and get a diagnosis.

Megan didn't make the commie time, but gave it a good shot. In retrospect, I should have been a bit more forceful in trying to get her to slow down (we did 5.45, 5.30, 5.45 for miles 2,3, and 4), but I think she was on a high, getting lots of support etc, and feeling fresh, and I was feeling shit.

Oh well, in the past. I'll give the marathon another shot sometime. Time to enjoy myself for a few weeks before some proper training for Dollar.

Easy day, but with a bit of walking and cycling to keep the legs ticking over.

With Joimes down to Hill reps, then home through the bog sans reps. Bumped into a very very tanned andoug on the links. A bit tired. A few watch less runs this week, possibly inspired by Running Free.

Megs, Jess, Reggie along the canal then over the other Craiglochart, lost on the golf course then home. Nice and relaxed. Tight and a bit sore from my sprints on Monday, but feeling fine.

Project meeting today, and an early morning meant I snoozed instead of running afterwards. Ran to the dinner instead. Worked up a nice appetite for peshwari naan.
