Today I always had planned to go cycling. Our neighbour Neal though wanted to know if I fancied joining him on a hard route he had planned that went via Hardknott pass. I hadn't done it before but seemed like fun.
Looking at the route he had planned I could see it was going to be a tough day as there were three big climbs in the 60km before we even got to Hardknott. I was quicker on the hills so I got into a routine of waiting for him at the summits. I thought my ride was over when I got a puncture only 34km in but the good thing about Neal was he had even larger arms than me so after he pumped my tyre up I was confident enough to keep going.
Mighty tough going up Hardknott but managed to avoid stopping. Bonky cruise back from Ambleside. Even more so for Neal.
