Orienteering race (The Colonel's Drive) 37:26 [4] *** 5.97 km (6:16 / km) +230m 5:15 / km
spiked:18/19c shoes: inov8 OROC 340

JK Relay at The Colonel's Drive (Graythwaite) in a team with Calum and Andrew in the mens premier. I was 1st leg. Much more runnable and technically easier than The weekend's areas. Legs were dead though from yesterday so just cruised round, only with a slight hesitation on number 2 from following the wrong chain. great experience though running the first leg against 93 other teams an d not getting distracted by other runners and just focussing on my own race. Course length: 5.4km

Warm up

Orienteering race (Bigland) 3:19:28 [3] **** 17.56 km (11:22 / km) +500m 9:57 / km
spiked:20/31c shoes: inov8 OROC 340

JK Long Distance race at Bigland. In a race as long as this it is important not too make stupid errors as it is such a long race you don't want to run further than you have to. Fine until 8, caught stephen, but then errors at 9, 12 14 and 16 pretty much broke me and i hadn't got into the main part yet. It is important also to carry food but i left my jelly babies in my coat pocket and that is also what broke me. When andrew inevitably past me after my errors i had no motivation at all to go with him. literally crawling the last 10 controls just thinking about food. In a seriously bad way feeling cold and hungry unable to run at all, never felt as bad as this before but this was my first M21E long. Course length: 15.4km

Orienteering race (Ulpha Park) 58:16 [4] *** 6.24 km (9:20 / km) +250m 7:47 / km
spiked:16/23c shoes: inov8 OROC 340

JK Middle Distance at Ulpha Park ad Barrow Fell. Not really my type of terrain and when i made silly errors this meant that i was further down than i wanted. Thought my route choices were good. Was getting to the control circle but then failing to spike on multiple occasions. Course length: 5.7km

Orienteering race (Lancaster University) 20:44 [4] *** 4.54 km (4:34 / km)
spiked:22/26c shoes: inov8 TRAILROC 255

JK Sprint at Lancaster University. Poor race really. Got a grilling from Mark for not having a plan for any leg.On the first half it didn't matter as no time was wasted going round one side of a building or another but once it got into the alleyways route choice ad looking ahead was key and time was wasted. Annoyed with myself for bottling out of jumping a fence that was quite high but if I had had been planning ahead i would have noticed it was crossable anyway. Course length: 4.1km
