The lost art of circle cutting...
Ankle held up! and actually scarcely an issue. A couple short stretches where I thought I'd better take it extra careful.

Managed to win course 3 despite dropping 3 minutes.
Nice moment with Z, T & myself finishing within 24 seconds.

Had issue going into 2 where half a bunker was under the circle and I didn't see it on map. Of course I may have avoided this if I read full description, north most bunker indicating another in the circle. anyway when I saw 2 on the ground I though I was looking at the 2 east of the control so turned around and when downhill to the one west of the control to find no kite. Then saw someone appear from the bunker I was heading straight to before I bailed out. So with the focus gone I took a a detour heading out of 2 and added a minute to that leg as well.

The other mistake was arriving at 8 before 7! I was going to 7 and upon arriving at 2nd road I though I had gone though the OOB so adjusted. dropped into deep depression to control, punched and checked code while exiting towards next control to find it was incorrect! Fairly quickly sussed it was 8 and ran back for 7. Lost about a minute but felt I should have lost more!

14 seemed strange in relation to other features and the GPS tracks confirm that.

Enjoyed the run, with the speed, keeping a track of all the line features was an issue at times. Thought the latter part of course could have been more challenging. Caught up with Niamh just after 12, helped by her dropping nearly a minute there.

Left leg pain all but absent today. Came quickly and left quickly. Ankle fairing well also. Will rest till Sunday.

Running 56:45 [3] 12.03 km (4:43 / km) +45m 4:38 / km
(injured) shoes: Kazan 2015

A lot of pain in left lower leg (mainly calf) after this run...perhaps from compensating for bad right ankle.

Running 49:01 [3] 10.29 km (4:46 / km) +257m 4:14 / km
(injured) shoes: Kazan 2015

Decided to ignore the ankle discomfort unless worse. On the whole fine till the last 2k which has 180m descent. A bit sore then and definitely struggled.

Planned about 10k but turned around after 2k with the discomfort of the ankle. By 4k the ankle felt less bad.
