JK Relays. Leg 1 on the Men's Short with David and Simon in the Saxon Invaders woop! Performance wise, the worst of the weekend, poor amount spiked and just wasn't concentrating. Came in 5th which wasn't particularly helpful to my team. 1:49 off the pace set by Grey Grierson, time wasted 1:40 haha. 3.6km 110m

JK individual day 2. (Distance is an estimate as I wasn't wearing my garmin) No where near as clean as yesterday but held on. I had a lot of nervous energy before the start as I had never started so highly seeded. This probably helped me on #1-#3 as I took it slowly being sure to keep it clean. Just when I was speeding up I caught up Nathan and Andrew, putting me off and consequently we all messed up #5 wasting 2 mins by falling off the bearing and then finding it hard to relocate quickly. Things cleaned up nicely after that. I knew #8 would be tough so was very careful and made sure to stay right on line and only missed it by about 30m. Went dead straight on #10 which went very nicely ticking things off as I went by. #13 I had a bit of a mare on and went over a spur and re-entrant when could have simply run round the path wasting 20s. #18 I lost all concentration instead of just continuing on my bearing and aiming towards the marshy depression I stopped early and started headless chickening, another 2 mins down the drain. I knew 20 would be tough so focused hard and nailed it (3rd fastest split). Clean run in after that.

Despite wasting 4:20 I finished in 6th place again, which when combined with the Day 1 result meant I was 5th overall M20E :) :) :) (11.2km 260m) +124% Aidan (61:14)

Can't really believe the difference a year can make... Looking good for Gothenburg selection!

JK individual day 1. (Distance is an estimate as I wasn't wearing my garmin) Nailed it! Really pleased that I stuck to my aim of taking it slowly and making super sure that I didn't lose map contact. I knew that if map contact was lost minutes would go down the drain incredibly quickly so was very careful. After a couple of wobbles on #2 and #3 wasting 30s and 40s respectively; Calum and Craig caught me. We ran together pushing each other on, but in turn being quite sloppy with the navigation, wasting 5s on #5 and 15s on #7. I then took the lead which made me focus a lot more, wasting no time on a leg until #19 where I stepped of the gas (5s) and #21 wasting 10s because I wasn't focused as it was so near the end.

By only wasting 1:45 I managed to place really well overall as many people made significantly larger errors; despite not actually winning any legs. (6.5km +140m) 6th +111% Ben Maliphant (33:01).

Best result of my life so far :) :)

JK Sprint at Swansea Uni. Pretty poor run I feel. To begin with I felt that I wasn't able to run at the pace that I wanted to, and the I got forgot what the instructions had said about crossing hedges etc... so I decided to take the path route around the ornamental garden bit most times which added on a distance and decisions. Hoping for a better race tomorrow.
