BUCS XC - Stirling. Mud mud mud. I was running the Men's B race which was the third and last race to be run. The damp grass quickly turned to mud as hundreds of Men's A then Women ran over it. There was one particularly hazardous section where we traversed a slope which was entirely mud, the first time we ran this shortly after the start, people would slip at the top and cause carnage as the slid downhill through on-coming runners! The starter slipped over and shot the pistol before he meant to meaning the race began a few seconds early!
The race itself went pretty well, slow start meant I had to navigate through the pack working my way upwards. After 1 small lap and 1 large lap I stopped overtaking people so quickly but instead of pushing I just kind of accepted the pace. I felt that I could have run quicker, but my aim of beating Richard happened on the start of the third lap so I relaxed a bit.

Long(ish) fast run to get the miles in and also reasonably quick to ready myself for BUCS XC this Saturday at Stirling. Lap of the entire meadows then a lap of Arthur's seat

Since I had a significant coughing fit in the middle of the night I thought it'd be best not to go for a run, so did circuits instead. My core is soo weak I haven't done any in ages!

3x5min/90s 2x4min/60s 3min. 4x50m sprints. Really slowed down considerably as the reps went on, a combination of stupidly eating a fair amount of food just before and a big week last week I think. The 4 50m at the end felt really really good; didn't really understand the reasoning behind it.

Nice gentle club run catching up on all the gossip from the ceilidh! Sounded like such a great night! Jack the routemaster took us on an interesting route along the dark blackford hill path across a field and then back down Braid avenue! We then did a little training thing in a triangle trying to follow a scribble we had drawn on the a triangle, corresponding to a triangle in the meadows. Simon then threw Jacks' keys away and we spent about 5 mins looking in the grass for them! Really enjoyable :)
