EYOC Long - Ferrel, W16

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5be1b1Sze...

Took the first two controls slowly, which definitely paid off. Started making a parallel error as I exited 2, but I realised quickly. However this changed my route to 3, the long leg. Had a small error when I crossed a track without realising, but continued on quickly and straight into the control. Next came a very short leg. Not sure how I made such a massive mistake on this control, but after I was told it's a planner's trick to put a short leg straight after a long leg. My direction must have been slightly off, and maybe I wasn't used to the 1:15000 but a two minute leg took me over 14 minutes. 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 were all okay, but by the time I got to the spectator I was drained of energy. Last loop was slow, one small error when I overshot number 12. Very disappointed with my run but really good experience!

EYOC Sprint - Obidos, W16

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5be1b1Sze...

First half of the course was good, the second half bad.
First four controls went well, but my route to 5 involved a lot of steps which drained me a bit. I hadn't visualised the control site so lost a bit of time in the circle. 6 and 7 were fine, but the climb was starting to effect me. Horrible mistake on 8, lost about a minute because I wasn't paying attention to which alley I'd to go up. Went up the right one, didn't see the control and turned around and up the next alley. Started to completely lose energy and couldn't concentrate enough on the map for the rest of the course - hesitated a lot. Apart from this I enjoyed the course and pretty happy with most of my route choices, definately not enough fitness training done.
