Curragh

Jogged to the bottom of Braveheart Hill. Ran up six times (double what I did on Monday :D). Started getting tired on the 5th time going up, but I made it to six which was my aim. Took a longer route back to the car. It was pretty humid out which made it tougher but I enjoyed it :)

Played football and tried to play hurling as a warm up...

Started at the bottom of Braveheart hill and ran up and down it three times each way. I was getting tired by the third time going up it so I stopped for a break at the top.

Did this exercise with Dad where we ran up and down the sides of this huge earthbank thing which was kinda steep and I was absolutely wrecked by the end of it :L

Training with Roisin and Aoife in Hillwood

Started off by putting out three kites each. It was easy enough but the map was a little old and the ground and vegetation were a bit different to what was on the map.

Hollywood Score Event

I got a few of the easier controls just off the tracks before getting up to the top of the map to the low-visability green areas. I went slowly in the green areas cos I really didn't want to get lost in there, and I managed to get the controls easily enough. I got a few more controls on the way back, and I was in grand timing to get in at about 49 minutes until I got lost on the way from my last control to the finish... I was just running through some forest without bothering reading my map and I ended up missing the track and losing 3 minutes before eventually getting back... So I got a 30 point penalty but I dunno what my final score was cause about 4 or 5 of my controls didn't register. It was fun and I never really know what controls to try get on a score event :)

Today was a nice, flat course. It wasn't very hard and it was really easy to follow where you were on the map, because of all the features. I didn't make any mistakes but just lost a few seconds here and there but it was a nice day.

Roisin, Aoife, myself, and Jill all started at one-minute intervals in that order. This wasn't the best idea for a course on open mountain cause you could see the person in front of you, so we all ended up running in a group for a while. The navigation was fine, but it was hard to run on the terrain and uphills. I had one small mistake where I dropped too much height but apart from that it was good :)

Newcastle Sprint

The course was kinda easy and there weren't any hard bits. The course was just up and down the boardwalk along the sea. I was a bit slower on the way back and tired afterwards but it was nice to run :)

Made a few small errors, for number one I just ran in the direction without really reading my map because it was such a short leg. For a few of the controls I was quite messy in the circle and kinda aimlessly running around the place... But I improved as I went :)
