Running race 48:50 [4] 10.0 km (4:53 / km)

Palo Alto Moonlight 10k

I had a decent run, although I did not break my goal time of 48 minutes. I was stuck in a crowd of hundreds at the start so I lost some time to that, but I don't think I would have broken 48 minutes anyway. In the beginning I was too excited so would alternatively run fast to pass lots of people then slow way down because I realized I was going too fast. I think I was still too slow in the beginning because I was basically passing people for almost the whole race. Nevertheless, running at night in a huge crowd on the baylands was pretty cool. If I'm in shape I'll have to do it again next year.

Orienteering race 1:37:19 [4] *** 6.1 km (15:57 / km) +475m 11:29 / km
19c

Blue at Briones.
Felt good and had a good race, although I ran too fast trying to keep up with Russell and so messed up 9. Was also rather slow on the first few controls. I started each of the first few legs running too fast and so had to walk near the end of the leg in order to find the control.
