London City Race 2014 - Limehouse & Canary Wharf (Men's Elite, 30 controls, 10.0km)
An enjoyable race around an area which I'm admittedly fairly familiar with, but too many stupid mistakes on my part. True, the course wasn't especially technical (but then I can't really see how it could've been more so, given the available features) - however, I still managed to unnecessarily lose time to 2 (hesitation on route choice), 3 (should've come in from the east), 5 (didn't see one couldn't approach from the canal south of the bridge), 7, 8, 14, 15, 17, 18, ... in short, quite a number of legs, none of which were especially taxing.

In most cases I should have spent a little more time on the dead run (of which there was much) planning each leg. Added together, I reckon that my mistakes and hesitations were worth possibly around 4 or 5 minutes

Cycling 36:20 [3] 15.1 km (2:24 / km)

Cycle to Southwalk Park to volunteer at the parkrun (#4). Once again, very much worth doing - the course record now stands at 16:51, if anyone fancies bagging themselves a course record before it becomes nigh-on unassailable.

Cycle back to Leytonstone via Dalston, taking a highly, highly indirect route to check potential control sites for Thursday's CHIG Street-O event.

Road running (Commute) 29:01 [3] 11.7 km (2:29 / km)

Note that this is an inbound commute - think this marks a new personal record for latest cycle home, and not one which I necessarily wish to emulate.

Unsuccessful commuter duathlon - arggggh, f**king Barclays Cycle Hire!
Ran through Leyton and along Ruckholt Rd / The Eastway to and then through Victoria Park, with the goal of hoping on a Boris Bike on Old Ford Road. Annoyingly my key fob was rejected and it turned out that the system was down, so I couldn't buy access with my debit card.

Unwilling to run the whole way in, I decided to jog to Stepney Green (chance to explore previously unseen bits of East London), take the District Line to Tower Hill and then run in from there. Which is what I did.
