Ponderosa Fell Race

Surprisingly had a really big entry for a weekday race, nearly everyone lined up looked like road runners and I realised why pretty quickly, as it suited pure speed. Not my type of race.

Plodded up a gravel road and had about 30m lead at the top to a big group. Then there was a 4km slowly descending grass path the whole way back. People started to pass me as I just didn't have the pace and I ended up 5th, should really have been third but lost all rhythm and really struggled to push near the end.

Still won some chocolate and a bottle of wine for being first junior, would have liked the podium though

Back to training after a week off. Although, I'm still not decided what I'm specifically training for.
