Road Biking 54:45 intensity: (57 @0) + (9:50 @1) + (34:09 @2) + (9:49 @3) 14.71 mi (16.1 mph) +1189ft

Ride to campus to get a COVID test and download some things.
29F at start but I was well dressed. Some ice on the roadway but not bed.

I had planned to go down to Ellet Valley via Jennelle but was running late and starting to shorten the route. I checked my watch as I passed a major shortcut and didn't see that I started riding over a 30ft long mound of ice. I tried to manage as best as I could but knew I was likely going down and did. Got up and slowly road out of the way of traffic. Felt some bumps and bruises and figured I would need a few minutes to loosen back up and I needed to instead take the shortcut. Fortunately turning around helped me realize my phone fell out of my pocket and was still sitting on the road.

When I fell a dog came way down the road barking and nipping at me. It tried to stay with me for about a mile.

Road Biking 1:24:24 intensity: (14:41 @1) + (25:06 @2) + (27:00 @3) + (16:57 @4) + (40 @5) 22.99 mi (16.3 mph) +2241ft

Since I had to shorten my earlier ride I lengthened this one and I was also able to assess myself in between (just a bruise on my elbow and knee). No significant swelling (yet). Used a commute route that I haven't taken in a while. Eased off the pace a bit as I wasn't in a hurry. Also was conservative on the downhills. Didn't see any ice this time except at home.

32F at the start but 40F by the time I finished.

Trail Running warm up/down 29:37 intensity: (26 @1) + (2:35 @2) + (21:43 @3) + (4:53 @4) 3.3 mi (8:58 / mi) +651ft 7:34 / mi

Homeplace w/Skip
Started this late and tried to squeeze it in. Started after sunset. Was getting dark at the end but had some nice moonlight to help.

I was rushing to get back for dinner. This was the fastest I've done this loop which I usually run easy. I felt pretty good tonight.

Homeplace w/Skip
Raining and the trails were super soft and slippery. Gaines driveway and Homeplace were slick. Almost fell twice. Took it slow and easy due to the conditions, tired legs, and my stomach was pretty upset the whole run.

Hill route but wasn't pushing them.

Ride to campus via CBurg. Light pack. On the warmer side.

I had to pick up a replacement part from Home Depot. I took the steps down to Home Depot. They were covered in snow and ice. Opted to leave the other way.

Some of the rail trail was covered in snow north of Merrimac so I had to real slow.

Ride home with a short stop at Kroger. Light pack. A little colder.

Driveway was pretty soft at the top.
