Homeplace w/Zitch
Entirely off leash. Didd pretty well. Took off at the start but settled in after half a mile. Stayed with me until the last descent when he slowed a bit.

Trail Running hills 1:04:06 intensity: (5 @0) + (52 @1) + (20:26 @2) + (42:28 @3) + (15 @4) 6.87 mi (9:20 / mi) +1570ft 7:40 / mi

Added this run in since I missed out on half my ride yesterday. And I haven't gotten either of my bikes set up again.

A decent replacement for the current hour loop with more elevation.

GPS a bit off.

Planned to ride over to McDonald Mill trails and back. Was noticing my rear tire was pretty flat climbing Beauty. As I descended the other side I started to hear it leaking. Found a pretty large gash. Stan's could keep it closed as long as I wasn't sitting on the bike (which doesn't really work so I had to put in a tube).

First time adding a tube to tubeless. It was a mess. To add on to it I was drenched with sweat.

I filled the tube and then rinsed off and kept descending. Two minutes later the tube was flat again. KT and the girls came to pick me up at the bottom of McDonald trails.

When I got home I confirmed the hole in the tube (actually two) was not in the same spot as the gash. I know sometimes my tubes wear out sitting in my saddlebag but I think I had checked this tube just a month or two ago for Nationals. Plus it held air when I filled it with the hand pump. It wouldn't hold much of anything when I tried filling it with the floor pump back at the house.

Is there any reason due to the Stan's or what I did that would have caused the punctures? It did seem like there were some needles and junk in the tire, probably from changing it in the woods with sticky Stans everywhere. Any thoughts or advice welcome.

Brush Loop to Beauty
Nice weather but a bit humid. Felt a little slow at the start and felt like I really slowed at the end but not too bad. Was working pretty hard throughout.

Saw a Black Bear standing in the trail at the bottom of Turtle with baby nearby. Scared them off. THen saw a black snake on the driveway coming down to the house. Then two "scary" black dogs were barking at me when I got back to the house

Rehab w/Zitch
Let him off leash for the second loop. He seemed stronger than the last time I did this. He pulled the whole first loop and stuck with me for the second. He walked at the very top of the hill for just a second.

I wonder if the improved fitness is just exactly that or maybe that it was a morning run or that he had an extra half-day rest.

PCT w/Nut/E
Started in the middle and stayed along the creek. Didn't get all the way to our turnaround. Might start closer to May Apple next time.

Trails are starting to get covered in leaves.
