Rocky Knob w/Zitch Had to visit Woolwine so had planned to ride at IC Dehart but the heavy rain last night made me switch to a pretty good second choice of doing the Rocky Knob loop. Only brought Zitch. Skip definitely not ready for a long run yet.
Was 35F and windy on the ridge at the start. I put on all the clothes I had. After dropping into the gorge the temperature rose almost 10 deg and the lack of wind made it feel another 10 deg cooler.
Last time I was here the trail was "closed" in the gorge. Not anymore. In fact they added two huge bridges over my favorite side creeks right before the turn up and out of the gorge.
The descent was tricky as it was slick and loose from last night's rain. I seemed to be hitting my 1/4 splits pretty accurately compared to previous runs. I did walk some coming out of the gorge. I think a little more than usual and my pace climbing through the field seemed a bit slow as well. Was able to pick it up mostly again across the ridge. Was a bit chilly again at the top but didn't need my gloves.
About on par with my usual times but not the fastest. Most of the time was lost on the descent. Almost a direct match to the 2015 Turkey Run.

Homeplace w/Zitch/Skip Squeezing in a run. 30F with a light dusting of snow on the upper half of the mountain. Light flurries while we were running too. It was a nice winter run.
Skip was on leash. He was reasonably well behaved. Only light pulls some of the time. I didn't have time to ride him hard about staying next to me but he was behaved enough that it wasn't a big deal.
