Set out on the beginner course with the whole family. Nut got tired of looking for "Trolls" so we came back early.

Orienteering 53:35 intensity: (3:25 @0) + (4:34 @1) + (13:21 @2) + (28:02 @3) + (4:13 @4) 3.27 mi (16:23 / mi) +835ft 13:12 / mi

Clearing the advanced course. Nav was strong.

Had trouble with the first control. Clue was creek but it was placed in some bushes about 10m off the creek (but still in the reentrant).

Interesting course dichotomy. Started on broad flat features and finished on steep reentrants. Probably should have come down Larkspur instead of climbing to Lady Slipper for CP 11

Note

Spent the week in Williamsburg with the family. Was hoping to get in a run or two at some nearby trails as well as a trip or two to the gym but I was pretty wasted every night and morning. Busy days with lots of fun activities and often times pushing the double stroller around. Think this actually took quite a bit out of me.

Family ride around Jamestowne Island. Nice and flat. Easy pace. We spotted several bald eagles.
When we finished we road a bit on the Capital Trail and the Powhatan Creek Trail at a bit faster pace.
