Clearing some of the Get Stoked course w/E, i.e., 'Trol Hunting. 45#pack.
This was her first time out for more than 1 hour and she hasn't done nearly as much running with me as Nut did but she was AWESOME to have in the pack the whole time and only started complaining when the rain started soaking through her clothes in hour 5. It did help a lot that the route I chose was road and trail heavy (75%).
Lots of silly talk, imagination, flowers, waterfalls (baby, mommy and daddy), and caterpillar hunting. And of course snacks. She didn't ask or want to get out of the pack at all. She was freaked out by our 1 slip and fall but eventually realized running was ok again once we got off the falls trail.
We started as late as possible hoping the rain would stop but it hadn't. So I packed an extra rain jacket and shoes in the pack just in case. 5 minutes after we started the rain stopped. Got a few drizzles after that. The forest was still really wet though. Sun started to come out in the last hour which helped warm her up a little.
Loop really was perfect. Controls were all close to roads/trails. I hadn't initially planned on getting the points at the falls until Mark pointed it out and then I saw a great trail to incorporate it without an O&B. The steep trail down from the falls was very slippery with all the wooden steps and rocks though. I didn't even bother coming back to it after 97 because I found the old access trail which was still pretty clear.
