Hiking 1:19:17 intensity: (12:00 @0) + (1:07:17 @1) 3.79 mi (20:55 / mi) +1807ft 14:25 / mi
shoes: Salomon Wings Pro (Hokie)

Hike w/Nut/Zitch/Skip. 40# pack. Left the cabin just planning to do the long property loop. Decided to start exploring one of the side trails to see how far up the mountain it went and ended up walking all the way up. Was lucky I brought the Leki trekking poles.

DT didn't last for long. Became overgrown after 100m and then became a game trail (overgrown w/ nettle) after another 400m. But I was able to follow it all the way up the spur and all the way back down without any problems.

Saw some people resting on the AT where we hit it. Ran up the AT to Buzzard Rock which was just barely under cloud cover. Whitetop was completely covered. Nut was cold but the Dogs barely stayed cool enough until we got to to the pond on the way back.

Road Biking 35:41 intensity: (18:32 @0) + (4:40 @1) + (12:21 @2) + (8 @3) 5.79 mi (9.7 mph) +564ft

Back to the Creeper Trail, this time w/Nut/Zitch/Skip.

A bit hot for the dogs. Had to cool them off at the turnaround. Then they tore it up on the downhill. Nut just enjoyed the ride. Finished just before the rain arrived.

Checking out Backbone Rock (world's shortest tunnel) and Backbone Falls. The rock was really interesting and cool looking. 35# pack.

Took the family back to Wilburn Ridge. Saw lots of ponies and slightly fewer people. It was a bit windy for Nut but a bit warm for the dogs. Had a water stop and gave the dogs water. They drink a lot. Need to carry a lot of water for them. Also stopped for all the ponies.

I am guessing the pack was 45# at the start.

Logged w/HRM.

Road Biking 50:55 intensity: (49:08 @0) + (1:47 @1) 6.6 mi (7.8 mph) +500ft
ahr:75 max:112 shoes: Giro Rumble

Creeper trail w/KT and Nut on the back of the bike. A lot more elevation change than I was expecting but the meant we didn't have to pedal at all on the way back down. Was actually mostly holding the brakes. Nice ride and section of the trail though. Think this may be the most "backwoods" section of the trail. Most of the rest of it is near roads.

Was a little worried about the 23c tires but most of the trail was hard packed cinder which worked fine.

Started watch late. Added distance. Logged w/ HRM.
