Mountain Biking 45:20 [2] 7.3 mi (9.7 mph) +1056ft
shoes: Salsa Moto Rapido

Ride to OMeet. FS Road was icy where it had been plowed at the start and trails were frozen but mostly rideable.

Busted out the old 26in Salsa with some burlier tires and platforms. Light pack.
12 PM

Orienteering 44:15 intensity: (3:00 @0) + (41:15 @4) 3.59 mi (12:19 / mi) +1131ft 9:30 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 (Black #2

BROC Pandapas Intermediate Course
Course set by Mark. Snow 3in on the entire course. I ran after several people so had some tracks but wasn't following them as most of them are beginners. Was happy to see that they often took good routes.

Stopped for 3 min right before 5 to help a couple relocate. Did give me a short rest.

Going from 8-9 I opted to stay on the ridge instead of take the trail ignoring the green rhodo which was super thick. Prob should have taken the trail but only lost a few seconds.
3 PM

Adventure Racing 1:02:44 [3] 7.96 mi (7:53 / mi) +900ft 7:07 / mi
shoes: Salsa Moto Rapido

Multi-Activity trip to include Orienteering, Snow MTBing, Run a Bike, Ice MTBing and Road Biking. Light pack.

Trip home from the OMeet. Cleared three controls that were mostly on my way home. Dropped my GPS to get one. Snow on the trails was super wet and sloppy. Was able to ride out PC to the DT and that was about it.

Opted to try and take May Apple instead of climbing PC but ended up running alongside my bike anyway. My pace was almost the same as when I was riding PC.

Trail Running 1:12:23 [3] 7.16 mi (10:07 / mi) +1775ft 8:11 / mi
shoes: Salomon Wings Pro (Hokie)

Ran to Pandapas w/Zitch/Skip. Had planned for more but blew half the day building a standing stool for Nut and had to get back to take her.

More snow out in the woods than I expected. 0-6 in around Homeplace and 0-3 in at Pandapas with a good bit of bare ground. Mostly fresh snow at Pandapas until I passed someone going the opposite direction. Creek crossings were COLD!
3 PM

Trail Running - Pack 1:04:39 [2] 4.91 mi (13:10 / mi) +2345ft 9:04 / mi
shoes: Salomon Wings Pro (Hokie)

Homeplace w/Nut 36lbs. When I got back I picked up Nut and went back out to make up for the shortened run. Left the dogs at home as they were wandering too much and would have been worse at a slower pace. Snow didn't seem to be as big of a deal now and was a nice cushion with the extra weight.

Stopped to talk with the neighbors who I was able to track via their fresh tracks (only other ones). Warned them of the firing range on their property which was in session when we passed :-O

Commuting 55:27 [2] 15.42 mi (16.7 mph) +1482ft
shoes: Giro Rumble

Legs were feeling pretty good this morning so I opted for a longer commute. Warmer (35F) but windier (15mph) mostly from behind except for climb which is prob why I felt good

Light pack.
5 PM

Commuting 33:47 [2] 8.39 mi (14.9 mph) +770ft
shoes: Giro Rumble

Ride home. Quick stop at the store to pick up some Oranges. Light pack.

Note

Have a little case of the sniffles.
8 AM

Commuting 34:24 [2] 8.32 mi (14.5 mph) +813ft
shoes: Giro Rumble

It was colder (15F) this morning than I was expecting. Wasn't surprised by the many patches of ice I had to navigate. Fingers were unexpectedly cold at the start but warmed up by Glade. Light pack.

Trying to navigate the commuter lots was a mistake.
5 PM

Commuting 30:57 [2] 8.19 mi (15.9 mph) +824ft
shoes: Giro Rumble

Ride home. Warmed up. 45F. Went without gloves which meant cold hands again. Light pack.

Ice was melted including the big spots.

Midnight Moonlit Snowrun on Homeplace w/Zitch/Skip Snow 8in

Beautiful night. Plenty of light.

No walking but took extra care on the MOSTLY frozen creek crossing. Water was COLD! Used some of my tracks from yesterday but also cut some new tracks. Took major advantage of the tracks up the top half of Turtle (faster) which were greatly appreciated after cutting new tracks on the bottom half. 1 mile on a cleared Straley Valley felt amazingly easy. Forgot what it was like to run without snow.
