Took a pretty hard fall at the halfway point. Not exactly sure how it happened. I was moving from the road to the sidewalk and for some reason I lost grip on the handlebars. The Sidewalk was too bumpy to recover. I got nervous because I saw a fire hydrant coming up. Almost fell into a nice grassy area but instead hit the pavement. My left elbow took the brunt of the fall. A few marks up and down my left side but nothing major. I expect to see a large bruise on my elbow and maybe a small one on my left hip (really hoping not though).
Took a few minutes after the fall to catch my breath (wind got knocked out of me and a little shock). I am interested to see what my heart did right after the fall. The rest of the ride was low intensity. Hard to put any force into my left arm.
Not sure about the ride home yet but should be able to do it.
Went to a Chiro recommended by KE. He did a thorough job assessing my current problems. He says the lingering unease in my hip is what he thinks is causing my foot problems. My hips are out of alignment which I believe. What he did felt good and hopefully it will straighten out soon.
Ride to work with a 15mph headwind. First time I have had a headwind in the am. Would be looking forward to the commute home if I wasn't so worried about rain.
Left a little early to avoid potential showers. It spit on me but nothing more than that. The morning headwind was not much of a tailwind this afternoon. The overcast skies actually made for a nice temperature to ride. A little humid but enough of a breeze to make it better.
