I left right after I got back from my ride. Ran into another neighbor on our way out. Lots of laurel blooming and also saw a black snake.

Note

Stomach was upset so I pushed my run with E to tomorrow.

ahr:144 max:167 shoes: Brooks Mazama

Brush Loop via Tom's Creek
Warmish and humid but clouds rolled in to help a bit.
I struggled. I had to walk both at the top of 8Track and at the top of Turtle where I was starting to Bonk.

As expected it appears they are building a new house on 8Track. May not be able to run this route eventually either.

ahr:136 max:180 shoes: Viathon M1 GX

Pandaplace
Cool but a bit humid. Slow climb up Beauty.

After the turnaround I got a pinch flat at the top of Beauty. My spare tube was busted and I wasted a CO2 and then I wasn't successful patching my other tire and using my other CO2. I think it was maybe a CO2 adapter problem. I didn't have a pump. Need to switch to tubeless.

Road Running - Stroller 58:55 intensity: (1:03 @0) + (4:43 @1) + (37:42 @2) + (13:04 @3) + (2:23 @4) 5.82 mi (10:07 / mi) +423ft 9:28 / mi
ahr:133 max:178 shoes: Pearl Izumi X Alp Enduro IV

Bushwhacked 10m over to Holiday. I walked down Holiday and then ran (pushed bike) back the FS road. I had a bunch of trash bouncing around in my jersey pockets.

Cool but humid. Lots of sweat. A little slow today. Tried not to push too much.

Pandaplace
Hot. Creeks were back down to a reasonable level. Nothing was super wet but still a little damp. Felt mostly good at an ok pace.

Accidentally stopped my watch messing with my RoadID and missed recording some of the run.

Didn't do our normal loop because the creek was too high to cross safely with the backpack. We checked it out though. Warmer than I was expecting and a bit humid. Tried to make sure the dogs kept getting water when they could.

E did lots of singing today.

Brush
Lots of rain. Off and on, mostly on, during the run. It was an enjoyable wet adventure. Crossing Poverty Creek at the bottom of Beast was up to my waist. I had to be careful as the water was pretty swift. The second crossing was only up to my knees but just as swift. Water running down lots of the trails.

Mountain Biking 58:42 [2] 6.61 mi (6.8 mph) +1459ft

The rain has held off so I did a quick loop. Added in a climb. Pretty close to 1 hour but was moving pretty slow. Will definitely be able to add the other leg once I can clear it.

Got out before it got too hot. Mostly cool but humid. Legs were tired and slow. These were still good miles.

Warm weather. Wanted to get out for a long ride. Trails are in great condition and there is lots of rain in the forecast.

I stuck to smoother trails this time and didn't have any full climbs. Found out that the parking areas have been blocked off which explains why the FS road has been so busy lately.

ahr:168 max:211 shoes: Brooks Mazama

My first time on the new property on Brush. Parked at the trailhead then ran up old Farm down Brush and then back Beauty and down the new main trail. The main trail was really nice. Double track at times. The forest seemed really beautiful.

Pace was SLOW. A bit stiff at the start. Warmed up on the Old Farm climb but wasn't feeling it so I didn't push. Long ride planned for tomorrow.

A bit damp at the start and felt some drizzling but really nice weather at the finish.

Nice cool day. Creeks are starting to approach summer levels.

Pace with pack is improving. Planning to start adding some small trail sections to keep this loop at 1 hour.

Cool (45F) and a bit windy. Legs felt good after the gravel section. Pace was pretty good throughout but I was surprised how slow my two big climbs were. New PR on the Turtle climb though at the very end. And my legs felt good all the way across Gap (but a somewhat slow Skullcap climb partially due to unclipping near the top). Took the 2 big downhills fairly cautiously.

Saw lots of parked cars (especially for a cold weekday) but didn't pass many people.

Spotted the first Rhodo flowers. The whole forest smelled like flowers.

Ran into another of the Gaines children and got the sad news that their father had passed.

Very slow at the start. Stomach wasn't settled and legs were still a bit tired from Sunday. Was trying to keep the pace comfortable but had to pick it up on the back half because I was running late for a meeting.

A little bit of rain but it was mostly passed already. Trails weren't soaked but a little wet.

Watch stopped recording location for some reason. GPS was slowing going off track before it cut out as well.

Hiking 33:14 [0] 0.56 mi (59:22 / mi) +164ft 46:28 / mi

Creeking with the girls.
Found a small spring on our neighbor's property.

Warm. Trails had mostly dried. Beast had some wet spots on the transitional section.

This was a nice bike loop with a bit or gravel road (3.5 miles). Unexpectedly had trouble at the bottom of Beauty. I had to put my foot down or get off 6 times. As expected had trouble at the switchback at the top but after the first dismount only had 2 minor touches.

Most people (20) I have seen out on the trails.

A little warm for the dogs but the pace was slow and the loop was short. Wanted to take it easy on them since Skip was limping a fair bit after his last run.

My legs were slow and stiff at the start, up the first hill.

ahr:161 max:185 shoes: Brooks Mazama

Brush Loop via Toms Creek.
No dogs today. Giving them a day off from the long run. Skip was limping a bit after our run on Tuesday.

Looking for more ways around the Cloyd's property embargo. I went around the bottom of their property this time which meant going all the way to the road and coming back up 8Track. It's been over ten years since I was on this. I have always come down so I did some research to make sure I did it right and avoided houses, etc. Also to get a sense of the property I was on. No issues but I did have to go around a gate right at the turn off Bobcat.

Pace was pretty good but I think it could have been better considering the amount of road (paved and gravel) I was on. I also think I can keep a faster pace with the Mazamas.
