(injured)

Went to the gym to lift. Was still able to do most everything. Couldn't do squats and calves but did leg curls and extensions still. Swapped a few other lifts/exercises as needed.

HealthCare (Podiatrist) 1 [0]

Follow-up
Dr. said it looked good, other than being a little too moist (need to dial back on the antibiotic ointment, extra ointment doesn't do anything but keep it too moist, just need a small coverage).

He confirmed there was no sign of infection despite forgetting to prescribe me antibiotics. Need to keep my eye out though. An infection spreading to the broken bone would be REALLY bad but unlikely.

He told me to stay in the boot and come back in 3 weeks for another Xray. I was hoping to shift to shoes and be able to ride but not the case :-(

Note

Still painful but not overwhelmingly so.

HealthCare (Podiatrist) 1 [0]

Pain was real bad and I could see some bruising around my toenail so I decided to see the Podiatrist. Was expecting a broken toe.

He right away told me the nail needed to be pulled and then took an XRay and was surprised to see a hairline fracture through the entire toe.

He pulled the nail and gave me a boot, but no pain meds. Expected full recovery ~6 weeks.

Note

Pain was a bit too much to bear but wasn't worth driving to town to pick up a prescription.

Old Farm
Not wearing the best shoes but wanted to get in a run and preferred forest to campus. Stopped on the way home.

Out and back on Farm and Beast. A biker cam up behind me before I got to Gateway. He chose to stay back as I was moving pretty quickly. Right after I came around the last turn I tripped over a long flat rock. Torso went straight to the ground and took the air out of me and a little bit of shock. Some scrapes on my hip and elbow and a stubbed big L Toe. Biker made sure I was ok and then left. After catching my breath I was hoping to walk for a minute and then jog back to the car. I was never able to jog because my foot hurt too much. I could also tell I busted my bursa sac in my left elbow.

Long ride back to the car via Gravel Hill. No pack. It was a nice ride. Pushed pretty well but was pretty smoked by the time I got back to Jennelle for the climb back into town. Fortunately it was one of the easier climbs out of the valley. Was hoping my speed would have been slightly higher.

Pandapas w/Skip. Zitch is recovering from tearing his pad during the last run. He might be ready to go again next week.

Warm but did have some clouds at times that cooled things off. Still made as many water stops as possible. Pace not too hard with multiple stops.

Ran the new section of Skullcap being built.

Pandapas w/Zitch/Skip
LSD
Trails were pretty busy but the dogs were well behaved. It helped that they were pretty tired. Had to drag Zitch through the last 3 miles. Not sure if it was the heat or distance that got to him. Neither one was excessive but they haven't been running a ton lately so maybe just a bit of both.

Had hoped to start earlier but woke up with a stomach ache and needed it to start improving before I was comfortable going for the run. Should have brought a Gu on the run since I hadn't eaten anything since last night.

Lots of water stops after the first 4 miles. Visited the pond 3 times.
