Orienteering 28:28 [5] 4.29 km (6:38 / km) +180m 5:29 / km
ahr:184 max:196 shoes: VJ Irock #2

JK relay, women's trophy, 1st leg
Ah so exciting! Beat Judith Wyder to number 1 and stayed ahead until 4, saw lots of top elites around and pushed as hard as I could to stay with the pack, not really sure what was going on due to gaffles, stayed in control the whole way but using the other runners as well. Finished 8th on 1st leg (5th British team) and only about 45s down on 2nd (Cat had huge lead) and finished ahead of some really good people so really pleased! Obviously wouldn't be so close to the top runners on an individual race... Toni and Kirsten did a really good job and we finished 4th British team!

Running warm up/down 9:52 [2] 1.34 km (7:22 / km)
ahr:128 max:143 shoes: VJ Irock #2

warm down with Beth

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2] 4.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #3

warm up - jog to start, little bit on model map and some drills
warm down - some by myself and then more with Katie so quite long

Orienteering (long) 1:07:26 [4] 8.0 km (8:26 / km) +300m 7:06 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #3

JK long, 3rd (2nd Brit)
Had an absolute nightmare on number 11, took the top route and I was fine for most of the leg but when I got close I think the scale threw me and I ended up on the wrong spur, as soon as I lost contact I panicked and went into headless chicken mode which is not like me, I think maybe I was over-confident so didn't know what to do when things went wrong... Took a long time to sort it out and lost about 6-7 minutes which is shocking and pretty inexcusable given the huge reenterant just before the control.
Also made a mistake at 3, losing about 2 minutes which is quite a lot as well, had just caught Fiona so think that distracted me but somehow I ended up really far left when I felt my compass was right, anyway sorted that one out quicker.
Really clean through the rest of the course and always in control except for those 2 controls, also worth noting that after the huge mistake I had every fastest split for the last 7 controls so I held it together well!
So many positives from this run but over all definitely not happy with it as I lost a huge amount of time. At least I have something to analyse and learn from... Very lucky that everyone else made mistakes (and also that Sarah and Rhona didn't run) and fortunately I had a big enough lead from the middle to win comfortably over all :)

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: VJ Irock #2

warm up - jog to start and drills with Saz
warm down with kt

Orienteering race (middle) 41:18 [4] 5.0 km (8:16 / km) +160m 7:07 / km
shoes: VJ Irock #2

JK middle, 1st
Such a good run, small miss at 3 (but that's ok because Thierry made a mistake there too (which I know because we had a chat, lol)) and binned 1 min at 16 because I was nearly finished and got carried away which is annoying because it's easily avoidable, but otherwise nailed every control, always feeling confident and in control at speed, almost had that feeling I had in the JWOC middle last year, just needed to turn the speed up a bit more but I couldn't really go much faster in that terrain... Buzzing!

2 PM

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #3

warm up - jog to the start, then drills with Sarah and Jenny
warm down
no garmin for individual races so don't know times/distances :(

Orienteering race (sprint) 18:47 [5] 4.0 km (4:42 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #3

JK sprint, 2nd
Not great route to 13, bad route to 18 and a couple of hesitations, losing about 45s in total which is quite a lot in a sprint, otherwise good so on the whole a reasonable run, only problem was I couldn't run any faster because it was so slippy so couldn't really push myself that much which is frustrating.
