Deep water running at the rockville aquatic center. Boring, but not quite mind-numbing. No flotation belts available so I had to use something more ghetto. I alternated between that and holding on to the side, which wasn't bad, especially facing outward. diving team practice provided a tiny bit of entertainment.

Heel still bothering me before the ride this morning, which was frustrating. Took my toe cages completely off the pedals, that combined with a much smoother ride seemed to help a lot. Felt fine during and afterward. I rode down the crescent trail and past the airport farther than I've been before. Still a ways from mount vernon though. Lots of inaugural-weekend shenanigans, including FBI dive team boat checking out bridges, and coast guard boats with mounted machine guns.

Some MTB along the cabin john trail. A little too muddy for my road tires. This was fun but seemed to irritate my heel, it was bothering me in the evening afterwards.
Off work today, and had that maybe-getting-sick feeling, so it seemed like the thing to do was go for a long-ish bike ride in 38-degree drizzle. down the crescent trail and up the canal a ways. only saw a handful of other people the whole time. not bad except for numb feet during the second half, and the corresponding unpleasant unfreezing process.
Accidentally "locked" the 310 on the satellite screen near the beginning of the ride which was annoying. Took a while of random button pressing (complicated by lobster gloves) to figure out how to unlock it. For reference, that is mode+up at the same time.
