Race Evaluation

28th Annual Billygoat Run:

TimGood

1. Planning for a relaxing run this year since I am out of shape. Arch of right foot was already hurting before the race even started. Leisurely walked and jogged following the crowd. Tried to take a lower line to the right below the cliffs but got to steep and rocky so climbed up. With Peggy until the trail when she went right and we went straight. Hit the wall way left of the control and followed it. With Peggy, Paul Bennett, Charlie DeWeese, Christina and others.

4. Left. Everyone else appeared to be going up the hill either the R fork or planning to hit the trail higher. I contoured around by myself and climbed on the trail. Peggy popped out a little in front of me near the top but ran away on the downhill

10. Bernie and Tony head off for the field run to 10. Peggy goes the otber way apparently to skip 10. Looks like a good skip but I hate to pass up a field run and go to 10. Never caught back up to Peggy. Checked out what I plan to skip while in the field. 22, 23 and 25 look like my options.

25. Skip: Since I have not skipped yet , this is the only one left. Tracy had skipped 10 already but I was suprised when Tony said he had already skipped as well.
26. Ambled off downhill thinking the road might be nice until I realized there would be a stream crossing involved. Angled a little more and followed the stream. Bernie and Rick popped out from above just before I got there. Thought they were long gone but they had some slow going in the green on the direct line.
F. They crossed the stream to use the road. Hoping they would have to cross back I stayed in the woods. Finished 5 seconds back but only because they were looking back on the road and did not see me sneaking up on the other side.
