Race Evaluation

28th Annual Billygoat Run:

BorisGr

1. Stood at the start for a while with Ross and John, discussing the route. Decided to suck it up and climb, along with everyone else. We got to the front pretty quickly and kept climbing. I stayed higher with Neil and Ross, while John followed a pack led by Andy Hall a bit lower. We all ended up hitting the ridge the and the stone wall the control was on too high and dropping down to hit it. John punched first and was off.
2. Pretty straight, just above the line, dropping down in the end. John and Neil both ahead of me, Ross and Vadim a bit behind.
3. Slogging along the creek, passing Pavlina and some cadets who skipped 1. It was tough going here, and Neil, John, and I pulled away a bit. When we got to 3, i could see Vadim behind us, but not too close.
4. We chose the left fork, which i thought was bad at the time, but looks a bit better to me now. Side-hilling to the trail and climbing up the trail took forever, and this was the worst i felt during the whole race. I just kep Neil and John in sight on the climb, and caught with them going into the control.
5. Straight over the hill, all three of us more-or-less together.
6. John pulled ahead, but went a bit far to the right, so we all converged at the control again.
