Race Evaluation

US S/M/L Champs 2011 & WRE: Red-X Long

1.
2. Passed Mike Lyons (2 minute head start).
3. A little hesitation in the trails up top, then on thre trail above the control, I never saw the stone wall (I now see that on the left, where I was mostly looking, it was a fence rather than a wall), so when I had gone far enough (just past it), I dropped down to the lower trail, found the junction, and attacked from there.
4.
5.
6. A little slow at the very end, trying to figure out what was mapped as a dot knoll.
7. Trail.
8.
9.
10. Small trail up and over the top. Passed Ray Chung.
11. Straight at it, aggressively, did this one well.
12. Trails to the right.
13. Trails to the right.
14. Straight, through the light green patch, drifted a little left after crossing the trail, but corrected pretty quickly.
15. Small trail down, then over the last hill. Went to the knoll on the SE edge of the circle first.
16. Just kinda pushing hard straight.
17.
18.
19.
20.
21. Trails to the right.
22. Went NNE to get out of there, hesitated when I got to one trail that looked more like a long marsh, came in from the SE, slowed by thick green on the edge of the pond.
23. Biggest error of the day. All was going fine until the final attack from the trail, when I went too far right to some bare rock that I could see. No control, but I saw one on bare rock further in, so I went there, but it was the wrong control. Figured out where I probably was, headed the right way and hit a marsh, hesitated a moment to try and figure out which one it was, then decided to bail and ran into the control in the process.
24.
25. Trails to the left, and hooked back on a trail at the end.
