Race Evaluation

QOC - Great Falls, MD: Brown

Sandy

1. +00:10Saw the road off to the right and momentarily got confused and stopped to check my map - sometimes I need to just believe I know what I'm doing.
2. +00:20Went high, probably higher than necessary, but it gave me an easy attack down the hill into the control. But probably not the best route.
3. +00:10Was right on line, then doubted myself and veered right to make sure I was in the right saddle.
4. Swung left by the trail - couldn't read the contours on the run (and I was running here!) and didn't want to get caught having to go up or down something big.
5. Took the trail along the ridge, then dropped down to the trail along the river about halfway. Made for an easy attack and all but probably faster to stay high.
6. Just getting tired...
7. My best leg. Nailed this one - went pretty much straight reading the map like there were beacons on every bump and just trying to push myself to keep moving.
8. Went left on purpose to the trail so I could just concentrate on trying to keep up the pace. Probably could have saved some time by going straight.
