Race Evaluation

HVO: Harriman: Red

1. Followed cliffs, up through reentrant, running right over a green control embedded in a pit - I asked Kathy Mcardle, who was standing 15 m. away if that was what she was looking for. Such unladylike language! (Directed at the setter, not me).
3. Wandered a little bit in the green area until I figured out to use a distinctive knoll lower down to navigate by. Boy was that control buried!
4. I thought I was being clever by staying high and going left of the line. I should have got to white as soon as possible.
5. Hit a distinctive unmapped marsh + stream just before the control, which confused me.
6. Stayed slightly right of the line to avoid some climb.
7. Good running through slightly wet area.
8. Through the saddle, bore right, followed trail to SSE of control.
9. Up through reentrant - pretty clear until near the top. Strayed a bit down the nose -- recovered by noticing the little cove in the lake.
10. Fought through thick stuff until a little trail. Went by dam, then right. (Staying on trail would have been faster). Stopped on way up to rest + nourish.
11. Run
12. Run faster
