NEOC Heart and Troll Revival A-Meet: Green X Day 2

Charlie

1. +00:40Angled west to the stream and up the reentrant, reading the top well, but popping over just right of the control and looking around for a bit. Argh!
2. Up through the green to the trail, trail to end of green, on compass and through green blob. Spike.
3. +02:30Out to the trail, but had drifted right and went up a reentrant E of where I thought I was. Hit the small marsh with the big rock, and then up the spur, but got confused because I thought I had gone too far and stopped to look around. Finally saw small reentrant on the right of the spur and crossed it to control. Jim Eagleton ahead of me, but he missed it and kept going.
4. Nice leg. Just right of line, reading features fine, coming around spur with cliff and up the reentrant and in.
5. Past the cliff and rocky ground on the knoll, then on compass downhill, seeing the reentrant before the control and straight to the boulder.
6. Saw Jim Henderson leaving just in front of me, but lost sight of him right away. Turns out he drifted downhill. On compass and on contour going up and down the the reentrants just left of the line, then seeing the right reentrant developing in front and trying to stay high enough. Right in.
7. +00:20Downhill past the knoll and on compass, saw the reentrant but no bag, so stopped to try to puzzle that out on the map. Then kept going and found the bag hidden by a tree.
8. On line to the indistinct trail, trail to the rocky ground and on compass. Could see the reentrant the boulder was in from the rocky ground area.
9. Downhill as expeditiously as I could, picking up stream left of line and switching to the larger spur, crossing trail and stream and picking up where the stream across came down the hillside, then on compass across the knoll. A little perplexed by the lack of a discernible reentrant coming down the hill there, but went for the subtle dip in the terrain and it was fine. Mike Minium approaching from the right.
10. Contoured around the hill right, aiming for the large reentrant. Saw the more distinct than mapped reentrant to my right, then across the spur and into the larger reentrant, past the downed tree PG mentioned, and eventually got there, but it seemed like a long time. Mike M was uphill on my left most of the time, and I think a bit behind.
11. Straight would have been a really fine way to go, but went left and down the spur, picking up the spur on the opposite side, up and over the knolls.
12. +00:20Down the reentrant and then motoring across the flatter ground, but saw the reentrant developing and stopped to look around too short. Easy once I realized the flag was supposed to be past the reentrant and not in it.
13. +00:20Not sure why, but this took a really long time. Might have been happier to just take the trail around to the left, but hopped up to a higher trail, and then went through the light green to the field. Then had to stop and read the map again to figure out what I was looking for.
