shoes: VJ Integrator (yellow)

British Relays, Hutton Mulgrave and Skelder.
M60 leg 3 after Tim and Nick L.
3.2km 80m.
3rd place.
The first 6 controls were lovely technical vague woodland. 7 and 8 were less pleasant before a couple more in the nice stuff to finish. Caught AIRE half way round but too much to do to catch EPOC and BOK. Calf was sore again after 10-20 mins.

1 PM

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: VJ Integrator (yellow)

British Long Champs, Mulgrave Woods.
M60L 6.5km 300m.
Started with little expectation of finishing. Calf was fine for around 15 mins but twinged coming down the hill into #5. Decided to try and carry on. Sure enough it eased on the walk up the hill to #6. Then wasn't too bad at a cruisey pace on the forest roads. No worse by the finish so I might as well have another go tomorrow.
Somehow finished 4th, only 3.5 mins down on Clive.

Very disappointed with the area. All the best bits from 8 years ago had been felled and were a watery brambly hell hole. The hills were still there and were obviously covered in slippery mud. No wonder Steve Cram declined to compete on M60.
