Ben Gunn's Cave. Still suffering from Sunday and struggled to get going. And it was a bit dark down in the gorge.

orienteering 1:14:47 [3] 7.0 km (10:41 / km)

Loch Vaa blue course. On the whole good navigation in the circle but too easily pushed off line by heavy going underfoot and wimped out of one direct route choice that I should have stuck with. Started off running quite strongly but after about 20 minutes I was beginning to struggle a bit. The last 20 minutes were very slow.

#3 followed one of many unmarked tractor tracks and didn't pay too much attention to where I was until I crossed the big track where it was easy to relocate, still more or less on line.
#6 set off to go straight and crossed the big track, but it was very heavy going and there were lots of tractor tracks going at right angles so I gave up and followed one of them to the parallel track. Should have stuck with what I was doing.
#9 couldn't stay on line - right of the line at first then over-corrected to somewhere left of the line.
#16 straight into the middle of the circle, didn't see the control in the bracken and spent a minute or so hunting for the flag on the side of the spur when it was more or less on the top
F - there was (still is) a problem with inconsistent times at the fnish. It depends which of the SI units you punched. My finish split 1:07 which is plausible. Jon X did 5 seconds which is not.

2nd M55, 8 minutes behind Jon, but I think it should only be 7 minutes.

Very enjoyable. Need to work on my terrain running.
