Orienteering Racing race 37:47 [3] 6.15 km (6:09 / km) +19m 6:03 / km

Nice easy run around Barnes Night O long course. Just focusing on enjoying the navigation. Wasn't especially accurate but wasn't particularly bothered about the results.

Definitely should make the most of these week night Os just so I can keep up some of the basic map reading whilst living in the big city.

Marmot Dark Mountains Mountain Marathon - B Course

Wow that was seriously tough! Finished in 10 hours 57min Almost 2 hours behind the leaders!!

Have tried to work out why we were so far off the pace and think it just comes down to not being fit enough to move quickly across some awful terrain.

Navigationally we were really pleased with how we executed our plans with only a couple of minor errors. However on the long leg from 9 to 10 we defo could have taken a much more direct line until we hit the fence and would probably had a much easier time underfoot.

Weather was far better than last years event and generally looked after myself better than last year. Ate well throughout, kept well and generally highly motivated, had a dodgy tummy but managed to keep on top of that.

Lots to think about and work on after this race in order to up the game as I look to compete in harder classes in future mountain marathons.
