The Spring 24 will be held in beautiful, fast open forest - mile after mile of spurs and gullies. Mike Hotchkiss, the course setter, has done a terrific job in creating a course that takes full advantage of the large area available and accurate base map, with some intricate detail to test map and terrain reading skills.

The hash house, approximately 3 to 3.5 hours from Sydney and 2 to 2.5 from Canberra, is on private land - a large well grazed paddock with secure all weather access. All but the last few kilometres are sealed.

We will be sharing the paddock with the resident flock of sheep. Late September is lambing season, so you will probably get to see some new-borns. Because its a working paddock with stock, please note that the landholder requires that there be no dogs or on-ground camp fires.

The property will be up for sale, so if you like the area or know someone looking, feel free to put in an offer!!

The setters and vetters have been battling the weather on your behalf. I think all the days on site have been wet so far. So we're christening this one the "High and Dry" rogaine, with fingers and toes crossed. Even with the weather, the course area is quite scenic and its a real pleasure to see running creeks and streams. So far we've seen a nesting eagle, echidnas and an emu, as well as wombats, wallabies and kangaroos.
