Mountain Bike Orienteering:

The event will have two mountain bike orienteering courses (same time window) on a mtb-o map. All of the controls will be directly on the trail, most are not even on a true feature. The trail network at Hay Creek is appropriate for an intermediate mountain biker with alot of doubletrack to pick your lines. Please be aware that beginner/intermediate mountain biker still require good bike handling skills and front suspension to navigate rocks, steep descends, and sometimes eroded trails.

The navigation is similar to a yellow course-the challenge is picking a good route choice, memorizing your plan, not missing your turns and learning to read the map at a very fast pace. You will definately want a plan to easily read your map!

Short Course: 4-5 actual miles, ~600 ft climb, 13 cp's
Long Course: 7-8 actual miles, ~1000 ft climb 18 cp's
