The Fall Orienteering season begins early this year as the first WPOC sponsored event occurs in just two weeks on August 3 (Saturday) at the IUP Co-Op Recreational Park (College Lodge). First time meet director, Sherry Shank, has designed some interesting and challenging courses for you to try out. The white course is 2.4 km, yellow is 3.6 km, orange is 5.2 km and red is 6.7 km. The red course will use e-punching.

Jim Wolfe has drawn a new map for the Co-Op park; it includes a number of previously unmapped features and Sherry has used some of these features in her courses. Registration is from 11 am to 2 pm; the map fee is $5 for members.

To reach College Lodge, follow Routes 422, 286, or 954 into downtown Indiana, Philadelphia Street. Take Philadelphia to College Lodge Road on the west side of town. Follow College Lodge Road about 0.5 miles to the IUP Co-Op Recreational Park, College Lodge entrance. Once in the park, watch for the red and white orienteering signs directing you to the event.
